Problem

Currently, most MPF enrolments are handled through a paper-based process, which involves significant administrative work and is prone to human error. This manual approach also leads to lengthy turnaround times, creating inefficiencies for both employers and employees.

A digital solution is needed to streamline the enrolment process. By digitising MPF enrolment, we can reduce administrative workload, minimise errors, and speed up processing times, making it quicker and easier for employers and employees to enrol in their MPF accounts.

Solution

Process Flow

To address the challenges in the manual MPF enrolment process, an online eEnrolment platform is being built. This process flow is designed to outline the seamless interaction between the three key stakeholders: the employer/HR/admin, the employee, and Manulife. The solution aims to create a smoother experience for all parties involved, accelerating the MPF enrolment journey.

Wireframes

The following high-fidelity wireframes illustrate the flow for employers to invite their employees to the MPF scheme. They offers a clearer representation of the layout and overall idea of the pages compared to plain greyscale low-fidelity wireframes.

Impact

To measure the impact of the e-Enrolment platform, data has been gathered through pilot testing, user feedback from HR and employers, and platform analytics tracking adoption rates, error reductions, and processing time improvements.

80% Faster Processing

Paper-based MPF enrolment could take 5–10 business days due to manual processing and approvals. Digital processing reduces turnaround to 2 business days, or even instant approval for certain cases.

25% Error Reduction

Paper forms had a rejection/error rate of 10–30% due to missing information, incorrect data, or legibility issues. Digital validation could reduce errors to <5%, ensuring more first-time successful submissions.

2x Higher Adoption

… compared to manual methods due to ease of access, automation, and user-centred design.
